How we use information

We use information to:

  • create, authenticate, secure, support, and administer Apex accounts;
  • provide purchases, downloads, libraries, cloud services, and account-specific features;
  • respond to questions, support requests, and privacy requests;
  • operate beta and partner programs and preserve agreement evidence;
  • provide analytics when the relevant records are eligible and consented;
  • prevent abuse, investigate security events, comply with law, and protect Apex and its users; and
  • maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the website and connected services.

When information is shared

Apex uses service providers to operate these functions. Depending on the feature, they include Amazon Web Services and Amazon Cognito, Stripe, Apple or Google sign-in, and email-delivery providers. These providers process information for the service they supply and may have their own notices for information they collect directly.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, during a corporate transaction, or when you direct us to do so. Apex does not sell personal information.

Retention and deletion

We retain information for the time reasonably needed to provide the requested service, maintain security and business records, meet legal and financial obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention varies by record type. We are documenting more specific retention periods as part of the current legal review.

A deletion request may not remove records that must be kept for payment, fraud prevention, security, tax, signed-agreement, legal, or dispute purposes. Where appropriate, information may instead be de-identified or separated from the active account.

See Account Deletion for the current manual request process.

Your choices and requests

You may ask Apex to provide information about your account, correct inaccurate account information, or delete eligible information. Some applications also provide controls for optional analytics or cloud features. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Applicable law may provide additional rights based on where you live. Submit a request through the contact pageand choose “Privacy, account, or legal request.”

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect information. No website, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. If you believe you found a security issue, use the instructions in our security contact file and do not include passwords, access tokens, or sensitive user data in an initial report.

Children

Apex account services are not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 should not submit personal information through the website. Partner applications require the applicant to confirm they are at least 18. A parent or guardian with a concern may contact us.

Changes and contact

We will update the date and version on this page when this notice changes. Material changes may also be communicated through the website or an account communication when appropriate.

Questions and privacy requests can be submitted through the Apex contact page.
